Aerie lingerie campaign.
What is it?
This is a campaign for ladies lingerie, where the American Eagle says goodbye to photoshop. In ads for their lingerie line Aerie, models strip and hair their flaws. They want to abandon the idea that everyone has to be skinny and perfect. There is no perfect body and that is what this campaign wants to promote: more realistic standards for young women.
Why is it cool?
The campaign shows imperfections, doesn't photoshop tattoos, beauty marks, lines, wrinkles or anything. Those flaws are clearly on the display. American Eagle says: "We're hoping to break the mold, we hope by embracing this that real girls everywhere will start to embrace their own beauty." (healthland.time.com)
Why does it have future growth potential?
So many women are shopping online. This campaign can help to let consumers make better informed purchasing decisions. The new site of Aerie will allow an online shopper to see how lingerie would fit on a model with a similar body as the online shopper has. This has future growth potential because there is no need to do photoshop, realistic standards is what people are looking for. Need more information? Take a look on: healthland.time.com
